The Great Detention Hoax: No One’s Building ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ — But Everyone’s Fighting Over It!

IN THE POLITICAL THEATER OF TODAY, EVERYONE IS JUST TALKING SMACK
IN THE POLITICAL THEATER OF TODAY, EVERYONE IS JUST TALKING SMACK

THE "WAR" FOR "ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ" IS A FARCE!

It started a week or so ago and was the brainchild of our State's Attorney General in response to the needs to incarcerate large amounts of illegals while waiting for them to be removed from the US. The proposed site is an abandoned jetway (see the story below) and the socialist 'anti-illegal" supporters have seized on it as a cause celebre.

Meanwhile, the rest of the responsible citizens are fighting with Big Sugar against an actual threat the "Rock Mine" near Belle Glades. Such is politics in this ass backward State.

They say politics is war by other means — and lately, it seems it’s fought with hashtags and hypotheticals. Case in point: “Alligator Alcatraz.”

Florida’s Attorney General pitched a wild idea — turning an abandoned airstrip in the Everglades into a migrant detention center, supposedly surrounded by alligators, pythons, and moral outrage. The left called it dystopian. The right called it genius. The media called it clickbait. And they’re all right — in their own way.

But let’s get serious: this facility is not going to be built. Everyone with a brain — including the AG — knows it.

The site is a regulatory minefield, mired in wetlands protections, endangered species law, and the ghosts of past environmental lawsuits. The cost of building roads, plumbing, power, and court access in the middle of a swamp? Astronomical. The legal challenges? Endless. The public image? Radioactive. You’d have better odds converting Mar-a-Lago into a wind farm.

So why propose it?

Simple: It’s a weaponized idea — not a real plan. It’s political theater designed to make the right look tough and the left look hysterical. And it’s working. Socialist protesters are literally camping out around a ghost airport to fight a prison that doesn’t exist — giving the AG everything he wanted: viral coverage, tribal outrage, and a flood of base enthusiasm.

It’s not about solving the border crisis. It’s about staging it.

And while both sides argue over a prison that won’t be built, the real issue — the Biden administration’s open-door disaster — continues unchecked. Migrant crime spikes. Sanctuary cities collapse. Federal enforcement crumbles. And yet, we’re all yelling about an Everglades mirage.

“Alligator Alcatraz” was never about detaining illegals. It was about detaining your attention. Mission accomplished.
