Early this morning (Tuesday march 26, 2024) the Singapore flagged container ship "Dali"
(984 feet long, 157 feet wide) "lost propulsion" and collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge bringing down multiple sections of the bridge span and killing a number of motorists driving on the bridge.
Maryland DOT and Coast Guard are on site. Hopefully, there will be a detailed statement later today, but rest assured, the Key Bridge is out of commission for quite some time.
